As DMs we are pretty much always looking to improve our games. These workshops are intended to let DMs work through some of the areas the they feel they need help with.

Prep as a DM is essential. But the players and dice often want to tell a different story — and then what? It's actually might be easier than you think, you just have to take the plunge!

Whether you’re an established DM looking to improve your roleplay, an over-prepper looking to streamline your prep time, or a novice who doesn’t know where to start, this workshop will give practical tips on making memorable moments on the fly!

In this workshop, we'll be going over:

  • What do you actually need to prepare to improvise a TorontoDND one-shot
  • Adapting your adventure in real time
  • Creating memorable characters your players will love
  • Heightening your scene painting
  • Following the fun and making it meaningful
  • Getting your adventure back on track

This workshop won’t only be theory. We will improvise a one-shot from scratch and apply the lessons we’ll learn.

I’ll also be giving a sneak peek at how I personally prepare for my one-shots and will answer your burning questions about improvising in general.

If you have questions, or want me to cover something that I haven’t already discussed, shoot me a message on Discord (@notverychrisofyou) and I’ll be happy to answer!
