In the capital city Melior, of the kingdom of Crimea, you found postings in taverns and inns looking for those who are stout and sturdy, with courageous hearts and empty pockets, with great promise to fill them with gold. Following the directions, you met four other adventurers at this wizard's seemingly small home. As you step inside, you find yourself looking upon a wide, multi-story library.
Books fly by, carried by a ghostly hand, manipulated by the wiry, fair skinned high elven man sitting some meters from the door at a substantial dark wooden desk. As his mage hand places a book gently on a shelf near the door you entered from, he meets your eyes, smiles and rises to his feet. You see bright white robes, with many small golden adornments that shimmer like stars in the sky, and from deeper within the library a snowy owl flies towards him and perches on his shoulder, its eyes peering curiously at you.
He introduces himself as Finarfin, a newcomer to this nation, whom has recently come into posession of a keep some days travel from this capital. While he is sorting out his paperwork, he was hoping to have some adventuring types travel the distance to save him the trouble, and help by at least getting started with the job of driving away these mysterious "monsters" that have apparently infested the keep.

Dungeons & Dragons 5.5 Edition
https://dnd.wizards.com/start-playing-dnd
Description:
The first Dungeons & Dragons game was played back when Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson chose to personalize the massive battles of their fantasy wargames with the exploits of individual heroes. This inspiration became the first fantasy roleplaying game, in which players are characters in an ongoing fantasy story. This new kind of game has become immensely popular over the years, and D&D has grown to include many new ways to vividly experience worlds of heroic fantasy. The core of D&D is storytelling. You and your friends may tell a story together, guiding your heroes through quests for treasure, battles with deadly foes, daring rescues, courtly intrigue, and much more. You can also explore the many worlds of D&D through any of the hundreds of novels written by today's hottest fantasy authors, as well as engaging board games and immersive video games. All of these stories are part of D&D.
