The hyperhidrotic individual sitting across from you raises his voice suddenly, startling you out of the somnambulant trance his hushed tones have cast on you over the past...hour? Half day? How long have you been sitting here? There are many empty mugs in front of you, and the jungle light seems softer, casting longer shadows than when you first sat down with Sylvinus. People around you are moving slightly too slowly. It's strange how time seems to move differently around this self described "archaeologist." Why such things happen around these people is an interesting question for those who study chronomancy, but you have more pressing concerns, like your next meal. "That much gold?" You mumble softly to yourself.
As if reading your thoughts, the brusque member of your party interrupts the narrative with the one question that is on everyone's mind. "You mean that much gold each, correct? For each of us? Not a total to be divided among all of us?" A wry smile and soft "yes" is Sylvinus' reply.
A large branch strikes you in the face, and you angrily remind the party member in front to be wary as they push through the dense wet forest. They mumble an apology, but they're focused on the treetops, the source of so many logger deaths. At that moment, the sky opens up, and a rainfall, thick even for this jungle, drenches you yet again. The loud hiss of rain crashing violently aganst leaves dampens the curses of someone behind you who has slipped again on a root, rock, branch or whatever.
The one you've nicknamed "uncareful with boughs" has had enough of the jungles discomforts and leans against a thick tree, emptying a stream of wet stones from his boot when it happens. You only see the black ball when it's about 5' above him, using four of its legs to slow its descent, and four legs to grab him and carry him into the canopy above. Whatever sound this spider made is muffled by the cacophonous rain, and you strain to look into the torrent as you track the progress of the monster up the tree. As suddenly as it started, the rain ends moments later, the relentless sun reemerges, turning the warm water quickly into steam. Apart from his screams, the jungle is silent, as if the millions of creatures who live in this clearing have stopped their day to dispassionately witness his passing.
His boot lies at the base of the tree, a ludicrous cenotaph to the one whose life you summarized with the single phrase: "uncareful with boughs."
"Come" grunts your leader as he pushes past you. "We must make these cursed doors by sunset." Glancing at the boot he says in passing "careful of the treetops."

Dungeons & Dragons 5.5 Edition
https://dnd.wizards.com/start-playing-dnd
Description:
The first Dungeons & Dragons game was played back when Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson chose to personalize the massive battles of their fantasy wargames with the exploits of individual heroes. This inspiration became the first fantasy roleplaying game, in which players are characters in an ongoing fantasy story. This new kind of game has become immensely popular over the years, and D&D has grown to include many new ways to vividly experience worlds of heroic fantasy. The core of D&D is storytelling. You and your friends may tell a story together, guiding your heroes through quests for treasure, battles with deadly foes, daring rescues, courtly intrigue, and much more. You can also explore the many worlds of D&D through any of the hundreds of novels written by today's hottest fantasy authors, as well as engaging board games and immersive video games. All of these stories are part of D&D.
