Attendance Policy

This document explains our policies in terms of lateness and no-show.

Lateness

Participants in our events are expected to be seated at their table and ready to play by the start time of the event. Obviously living in Toronto there will be extenuating circumstances such as TTC issues, traffic etc that are going to come up. That being said, we know those things are going to come up from time to time and you should account for the possibility.

What to do if you are going to be late:
  1. Notify your table: Let your table know by going to your profile menu and selecting "Running Late". This will allow you to let us know how late you expect to be and enter a brief message. You will be marked late in the event and a notification will be made on our Dicord server in #late.
  2. Arrive quietly: If your table has started without you, seat yourself quietly and cause as little disruption as possible.
What you can expect if you are late:
  • Any attendee who is more than 15 minutes late without notifying admin may lose their seat, without a refund.
  • Any attendee who is more than 30 minutes late may lose their seat (without a refund) whether they have notified admin or not.

Note that this does not mean it is okay to be fifteen minutes late. It just means that if you don't notify us we will hold your seat for up to 15 minutes. If you do notify us we will hold it for up to 30 minutes. You may be denied seating if your lateness is going to be too disruptive to an ongoing game (DMs discretion), or if we have anybody on standby at the event who can take your seat.

Participants who are habitually late or consistently cause disruption when they are late, or abuse this policy in any way may be subject to penalties up to and including removal from the group.

No Shows

If you have a ticket to an event and don't show up to participate you will be considered a "no-show" for the table. This is considered extremely rude behaviour and will not be tolerated. We certainly understand that life and memory lapses do happen and we will be as understanding as possible, but repeat/frequent offenders will be removed from the group permanently.

Spectators

From time to time people will ask if they or a friend can sit at the table and watch the game. We do not allow spectators at our games for the following reasons:

  • Some of our venues have strict capacity limits and we cannot have more people at our events than we have accounted for.
  • Physical space can be tight as it is and we don't have room for more bodies at the table.
  • Some players have expressed discomfort at having spectators at the table.

We will not put players or venues in an uncomfortable situation by asking for exceptions to this policy at the event.

Age Requirements

For liability reasons all of our events are 18+ without exception.
