In the wake of a continental war, the nations of the continent of Alteria are enjoying a tenuous peace. The Kingdom of Ichoria - whose ruthless monarch Vilderavn and his black dragon Zarmangarof drove most of the conflict - finally agreed to an armistice after the king was deposed by his own daughter Ileosa and a cabal of ministers in a surprise coup. Tired of constant battles, a series of continent-spanning accords were proposed in a peace summit.

And then, during one such meeting, Ileosa and her entire cabinet were assassinated.

You are princes, lords, archmages, or other leaders of the League of Free Cities, a conglomerate of city-states that stood in staunch opposition to the Ichorians. Your aid was instrumental in the war turning against Ichoria, and each of you has risen to power through the renown of your heroic deeds. It is no surprise then that right after Ileosa's death, you are summoned to an emergency council meeting in the middle of the night.

Vilderavn is on the warpath once more, and with his dragon companion at his side, he may prove to be a greater danger than ever...

Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition

https://company.wizards.com/

Description:

The first Dungeons & Dragons game was played back when Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson chose to personalize the massive battles of their fantasy wargames with the exploits of individual heroes. This inspiration became the first fantasy roleplaying game, in which players are characters in an ongoing fantasy story. This new kind of game has become immensely popular over the years, and D&D has grown to include many new ways to vividly experience worlds of heroic fantasy. The core of D&D is storytelling. You and your friends may tell a story together, guiding your heroes through quests for treasure, battles with deadly foes, daring rescues, courtly intrigue, and much more. You can also explore the many worlds of D&D through any of the hundreds of novels written by today's hottest fantasy authors, as well as engaging board games and immersive video games. All of these stories are part of D&D.
